The Master of Business Administration program is for those who are serious about lifting their career to new heights. The courses included strategy for managers, project management, fiscal planning, and many others that focus on the management of organizational resources. The MBA programs offer advanced writing problems as well as advanced seminars that the student can take advantage of throughout the program.

The MBA program starts with the fundamentals and basic requirements of obtaining the degree along with what graduates can expect. The program is completed with a collaborative work portfolio that brings all of the coursework and experience together and offers the student a chance to showcase their knowledge. Upon completion, the graduate will have observed, worked through, and implemented many of the theories and practices contained within the framework of the MBA program.

As experience progresses within the graduate’s career, they will have been able to recall the lessons and instruction received from the MBA program. There will be ample opportunity to explore the implementation of further research and theory as needed. In some cases, the graduates are able launch out on their own, as the program gives enough information for the students to understand all phases of an organizations life span.

Now that you have your bachelor’s degree in business, if you are interested in pursuing your MBA there are a few things you should know about the application process. Although each business school has its own set of requirements there are quite a few general steps that all schools seem to have in common. First of all you will obviously need to fill out an application at the school of your choice. Be prepared to pay an application fee, which varies depending on the school but averages around 250. Secondly you will need your university transcript (some schools use your GPA to determine eligibility) and you will need to submit your Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score. Is this new to you? Catch up here The next thing you will need is a resume showing any work experience you may have (although work experience is not required by every school) and extracurricular activities. Most schools require references with at least two letters of recommendation and some schools will request an interview with you. Finally, be ready to write from one to three essays which will probably relate to your professional goals and life experiences. Keep in mind that if you are an international student there may be a few additional requirements.

Pursuing a MBA degree is the most exciting time at any phase of your career. A MBA degree is not just a degree but it is an experience. As exciting it is to pursue a MBA degree, it is also a responsibility to do it right and make the right decisions while pursuing it. Some of these decisions have to be taken early on.

There are couple of routes one can take in MBA. One route is to do a generic MBA and the other route is to do a specific MBA concentration such as Human Resources, Accounting or Finance. There is no one right choice, it depends on the individual and their career goals. If one knows that they are going to pursue Human Resurces field or they are already in that field, they can make a choice of Human Resources concentration. If one is in Human Resources field and wants to change that field and instead pursue Accounting, they should go for Accounting concentration. However, if you are unsure which field is best for you, best thing to do is to do a generic MBA to figure out which field interest you more and where your passion is.

There are many good MBA programs out there today. This blog focuses on the top five programs in the USA.

Harvard Business School rounds out the top of the list as the number one business school in the country. Harvard Business school is not one of the most affordable schools in the country, but having Harvard on your resume goes a long way and might give you that extra push when searching for a job. It’s something worth checking out.

The next school on the list is: The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. This pick comes as more affordable choice if money is important in your decision to choose what school you want to go to. The quality of education is of course the most important thing to look at overall.

The next school on the list is: Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Listed as the top third school in the country.

Coming up fourth on the list is: Stanford University, School of Business. Stanford is defiantly one of those schools that carries a big name just as Harvard does. As you see it’s number four and again quality of education is to be carefully looked at.

Last on the list of the top five MBA schools in the US is: Columbia Business School, Columbia University.

This is a great starting point as you look for your school and future carrier opportunity’s.
